Prime ministers of the UK

After the resignation of Boris Johnson as the Prime Minister of the UK caused by multiple accusations for example throwing a giant party during the Covid lockdown. A couple months later, on the 6th of October a british politician Liz Truss became the new Prime Minister of the UK. Only 45 days later Liz Truss resigned her leadership of the Conservative party and the position as the prime minister after failing tax-cutting budgets which lead to massive financial market drops. This led to a revolt in her own party and finally caused to leave her occupation.Because of this Liz Truss became the shortest-serving prime minister in the history of the UK. A couple days ago it was revealed that another politician called Rishi Sunak is going to take her place. Rishi Sunak is a British politician of Indian descent and is husband to Ashkata Murty, the daughter of an indian billionaire Narayan Murty.  I think that Liz Truss' situation was terrible from the start. Her premiership was first ...

Extreme environmental movements

Over a week ago a group promoting stopping the use of oil raised a big controversy. Two teenagers threw canned tomato soup at Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" in the National Gallery in London. The painting which is priced at almost 100 milion dollars fortunately didn't take any damage thanks to a protective layer of glass on the painting. They spilled soup then glued themselves to the gallery wall using quick-drying glue and started shouting phrases about saving the environment. A couple months ago a similar incident happened in the Louvre in Paris. A man dressed as an old disabled woman threw cake all over Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" and then also started saying a message.  I personally think that these kind of protests are good for spreading the message but at a cost. By targeting something which is high valued and known they can get a lot of media coverage on the movement but that also shows the organisations as extreme and maybe even dangerous to the wo...

North Korean missle tests

On the 4th of October 2022 North Korea launched a long range  ballistic missle that traveled 4500km and reached an altitude of 1000km. This was North Korea's first missle launch over Japan since 2017. This action was probably made in response to South Korea, Japan and USA's military drills. The first missle was fired on 25th of September 2022 the day after a US naval carrier arrived in waters around the Korean peninsula. Since then several more missles have been fired and is raising concerns about another nuclear weapon test by North Korea. On the 14th of October 2022 North Korea fired several artillery shells near the border with South Korea. It was later confirmed by the north korean government that it was a simulation of a nuclear defense against South Korea. In my opinion North Korea is a great threat to the entire world. This country is very aggresive and unstable and now the situation with them has gotten even worse. I think that their missle tests might have been also ...

Crimean Bridge

On 8th of October it has been reported that the bridge in Crimea which is connecting Russia to Ukraine has been partially blown up. This explosion made damage to one of the lanes of the bridge causing it to partially collapse into the water. Train tracks that were also part of the bridge have also suffered substancial damage. This explosion is said to come from a bomb that has been put into a truck that was on the bridge. There are speculations that it was done by Ukrainian soldiers. This bridge was a crucial part of transporting materials, ammunition and food to Russian soldiers and with this being cut off Ukrainians have a much better chance of winning the war that has been going on since february 2022.   I think that this event is very important for Ukraine and it will get them closer to fight off the invaders. Hopefully before the bridge is repaired Ukrainian soldiers will make great progress on the war. I also think that this situation is funny because it happened o...

Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian is a large and deadly Category 4 Atlantic hurricane. It formed around 23 September and seems to be dissapearing now. It originated from a tropical wave that first hit ABC islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Colombia with heavy rains and winds. It very quickly became a Category 3 hurricane and went over Cuba. After that it transformed into a Category 4 hurricane and progressed towards Florida and South Carolina. Hurricane Ian caused at least 23 deaths in Florida and 47$ billion in insured storm damages. It destroyed many people's houses, cars and their belongings.  I think it's very sad to see that many people losing their property and lives to this natural disaster which also makes me glad we don't see that sort of things in Poland. I also think that people living in places that hurricanes and other natural disasters may appear should be a lot better prepared. There are many videos of houses that have been caught by a highly flowing flood in Florida c...
