Hurricane Ian

 Hurricane Ian is a large and deadly Category 4 Atlantic hurricane. It formed around 23 September and seems to be dissapearing now. It originated from a tropical wave that first hit ABC islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Colombia with heavy rains and winds. It very quickly became a Category 3 hurricane and went over Cuba. After that it transformed into a Category 4 hurricane and progressed towards Florida and South Carolina. Hurricane Ian caused at least 23 deaths in Florida and 47$ billion in insured storm damages. It destroyed many people's houses, cars and their belongings. 

I think it's very sad to see that many people losing their property and lives to this natural disaster which also makes me glad we don't see that sort of things in Poland. I also think that people living in places that hurricanes and other natural disasters may appear should be a lot better prepared. There are many videos of houses that have been caught by a highly flowing flood in Florida caused by Ian. I think that USA should build houses like in Japan where they are built to prevent effects of floods or earthquakes and not be made out of wood and drywall which gives almost no resistance to these things.

    You're right, "the most powerful country in the world" should be able to protect its citizens from nature in some way.

Inappropriate KFC promotion

  On the 9th of November in Germany there is an anniversary of the Kristallnacht - the night in 1938 where Nazi-led attacks destroyed over 90 Jewish-owned businesses. On this day there are many memorial events reflecting Nazi Germany and their actions in WW2. Every person which had the KFC app installed or had other notifications from KFC was sent a message saying  "It's memorial day for Kristallnacht! Treat yourself with more tender cheese on your crispy chicken. Now at KFCheese!". An hour after this event KFC removed the message, apologised for it and blamed the automatic system which they use for sending notifications for holidays or other events. I think that this is sort of a funny mishap but not the historical event of course. This also shows how companies such as KFC use special occasions to make some extra money. Crimean Bridge

 On 8th of October it has been reported that the bridge in Crimea which is connecting Russia to Ukraine has been partially blown up. This explosion made damage to one of the lanes of the bridge causing it to partially collapse into the water. Train tracks that were also part of the bridge have also suffered substancial damage. This explosion is said to come from a bomb that has been put into a truck that was on the bridge. There are speculations that it was done by Ukrainian soldiers. This bridge was a crucial part of transporting materials, ammunition and food to Russian soldiers and with this being cut off Ukrainians have a much better chance of winning the war that has been going on since february 2022.   I think that this event is very important for Ukraine and it will get them closer to fight off the invaders.
