What are ESports?
ESports are tournaments where you play computer games competitively. This concept has been around since 1972 when game consoles were starting to become more popular and reachable for all people. In 1980 the first organised competition happened and had over 10 thousand participants. Since then this idea spread over the world and in 1998 another tournament had over 50 million viewers on the internet. These days ESports are even more popular and play a big role in the entertainment industry as well as in the economy because different brands pay for advertising their products during the competitions. Many organisations have been created that have their own teams and players to participate during them, so a lot of young people dream to become an ESports player. Being in an organisation like that is very hard to achieve but in the end it can be very profitable because the teams have their own sponsors that also want to advertise their brand and winning a single tournament can also give the a lot of money.

Apart from the competitive element, I don't understand why this is called a sport. It's more like any other contest, where people compete in singing, poetry reciting, etc. Doesn't spot involve a physical activity?
